OUR STORY


AMI TRADING (USA) INC. was founded in 1963 by Martin B. Netsky and his father, Jacob Netsky. The company originated on the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico as American Merchant Inc.

AMI Trading progressed from a yard processing metals to a key player in the trade of all grades of scraps; from ferrous and non-ferrous metals to plastics, electronics and others. With more than 50 years of experience in supplying international and domestic markets, our services have come to include in-house logistics, financing and documentation.

AND ACCREDITATIONS

  • American Copper Council


    The American Copper Council is a not-for-profit trade association representing all segments of the copper industry. Incorporated in 1975, the Council's 150 member companies include producers, scrap dealers, brass and wire mills, fabricators, consumers, merchants and brokers.

  • Bureu of International Recycling


    Founded in 1948, BIR was the first federation to support the interests of the recycling industry on an international scale. Today, BIR represents over around 700 member companies from the private sector and 39 national associations, in more than 70 countries. Together, these members form the largest international recycling federation.

  • Recycled Materials Association


    ReMA is the nonprofit trade association that is the “Voice of the Recycling Industry.” Based in Washington, D.C., ReMA represents more than 1,100 private and public for-profit companies that process, broker, and industrially consume all scrap commodities.

  • General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine


    A ministerial administrative organ under the State Council of the People Republic of China in charge of quality, metrology, entry-exit commodity inspection, entry-exit health quarantine, entry-exit animal and plant quarantine, import-export food safety, certification, accreditation, standardization, as well as administrative law-enforcement.

  • Custom-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism


    CTPAT is a voluntary public-private sector partnership program which recognizes that CBP can provide the highest level of cargo security only through close cooperation with the principle stakeholders of the international supply chain such as importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers, and manufacturers.

  • The Association of Plastic Recyclers


    The Association of Plastic Recyclers is an international trade association representing the plastics recycling industry. APR member companies are committed to the success of plastics recycling. Membership spans the entire industry and through their participation APR member companies are shaping the future of our industry.
